Euro Auctions, Leeds, November, the final sale of 2019, and what a year!!

Euro Auctions, record breaking auctioneers of industrial plant, construction and agricultural machinery, closes its year with record results, sale on sale having hosted seven sales in 2019 with close to 40,000 pieces of equipment going over the ramp and being sold to the highest bidders.

Europe’s largest regular auction of industrial plant, construction and agricultural machinery, Euro Auctions, Leeds, closed its ramp for Christmas following the last sale of 2019 and looks forward to a new start in 2020 with a new look and better Euro Auctions that will welcome 2020 with a BANG!!

On the 27th, 28th and 29th, the November Euro Auctions sale attracted 436 vendors, 4,636 lots which collectively had a hammer value of £29.60 million with 49.99%, £14.79 being sold online. Of the 436 vendors, 30 were first time registered from over 24 countries around the globe, but 369 of those vendors were from the UK making this a home sale in time for Christmas.

Bidder numbers for this sale were up on the previous sale in November 2018 by 30%. With a total of 3,247 bidders making the three-day sale brisk and lively, with 930 floor bidders over the course of the sale, with 2317 online bidders, totalling a whopping 71% of bids place via the internet, the highest figure yet for a Euro Auctions, Leeds sale.

The home European market was the most active, with bids from Europe successfully securing 95% of the catalogue, and the remaining buying coming from the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, Caribbean, Asia, North America and South America.

“We have an enviable reputation for selling good quality machinery,” explains Jonnie Keys, Euro Auctions’ Operations Manager. “This is why our now famous sale at our flag‑ship depot just outside Leeds repeatedly sees 5,000 or more pieces of construction plant and agricultural machinery go under the hammer across three days. It also attracts huge crowds, significant online interest, and consistently attains final hammer totals around the £40 million mark.”

2020 – NEW CHANGES, NEW LEEDS!

Now, Leeds as we know it is changing. As 2019 drawers to a close , the main ramp at Euro Auctions Leeds has seen some amazing action in the last 12 months, with the final machine sold at Euro Auctions Leeds in 2019 and very likely the last machine ever to be sold on the current ramp. In in 2020, the first sale on January 29th, 30th & 31st January will be at the new sales arena that Euro Auctions has been building for the last 18 months. (See photo)

Expanding the facilities
In 2020, Euro Auctions will unveil its new facilities at Leeds, and the new sales ramp (pictured) with start the procession of equipment for sale in true Euro Auctions style. The new LEEDS facility will include: new workshops, news office and main administration centre, auction arena with two sales ramps, in addition to a 2,380m² jet wash bay, which will create the largest auction facility in Europe.
