Engineers Ireland has launched a free virtual work-experience programme to give all Transition Year students access to engineering, regardless of location or industry connections.

The new online version of the STEPS Engineering Your Future initiative removes barriers faced by students in rural areas or schools with limited placement options.

Participants can explore engineering disciplines, engage with real-world projects and hear from Irish engineers through flexible videos, webinars and interactive content.

“We are ensuring every student can discover engineering,” said Roseanne O’Leary, STEPS Team Leader. The virtual programme runs until 18 January 2026. Applications: engineersireland.ie.
