The Lighthouse Charity is marking its 70th anniversary this year, celebrating seven decades of providing vital support to those working in the construction industry while calling on the community to continue backing its growing services.

The charity has extended its heartfelt thanks to supporters across the construction sector whose ongoing commitment helps fund free and confidential wellbeing services for workers and their families. As demand for these services continues to rise, the milestone anniversary provides an opportunity to further raise awareness of the support available.

Throughout 2026, the charity will host a series of events across Ireland and Northern Ireland aimed at bringing the construction community together while raising funds and awareness for its work.

Upcoming events include the Ireland South Limerick Hike on 23 May 2026, followed by the Ireland Summer Lunch on 12 June 2026. In July, supporters will gather for the Carlingford Adventure Day on 3 July 2026, offering participants a chance to take part in outdoor activities while supporting the charity’s mission.

Later in the year, the Northern Ireland Lighthouse Committee Lunch Event will take place at Titanic Belfast on 18 September, with further details to be confirmed. The calendar will conclude with The Big Pitch In on 16 October 2026.

Organisers say more initiatives are already in development as the anniversary year gathers momentum. Among them is the upcoming “Wear it Purple for Lighthouse Day”, which will encourage companies and individuals across the construction sector to show their support and help raise awareness of the charity’s services.

The Lighthouse Charity provides a range of wellbeing support for construction workers and their families, including emotional, physical and financial assistance. As the charity celebrates 70 years of service, it hopes the anniversary events will help strengthen industry engagement and ensure support remains available to those who need it most.

Supporters are encouraged to get involved in the events throughout the year and continue helping the charity make a meaningful difference across the construction community.
