August will also see the Assured Project Supervisor Construction Stage course, and the Assured Temporary Works Coordinator Two-Day Programme. There is also room to advance your Excel skills through the Advanced MS Excel course taking place in the CIF Virtual Classroom.

CIF CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)
This comprehensive course is designed for those responsible for the planning and execution of lifting operations involving cranes and other lifting equipment. It is ideal for managers, supervisors, or appointed persons working in construction or related sectors.
Course duration: Four days of classroom and practical training, followed by one day of theory and practical assessment.
Legislative coverage: The course incorporates both Irish and UK (British) legislation, making it suitable for companies with operations in Ireland, the UK, or both.
Theory assessment: The written exam includes questions covering both Irish and British legislation to prepare learners for work in either jurisdiction.
Flexibility and mobility: The dual-certification pathway offers flexibility for those currently working or planning to work in Ireland, the UK, or transitioning between both.
Certification options: Learners have two certification pathways:
CPCS White Assured Card (Ireland): Valid for five years and recognised within ROI.
CPCS Red Card (UK): Learners intending to work in the UK can apply for this CSCS-affiliated card. This requires passing the MAPS touchscreen test (CIF will provide details).
Further progression: Those holding the Red CPCS Card (UK) will be encouraged to upgrade to the CPCS Blue Competence Card within two years, in line with UK industry standards.

This innovative two-day course is designed to provide those on-site, who have responsibility for supervising temporary works, with the essential knowledge to deliver in this area of construction activity.
It is also suitable for builders and specialist contractors, utilities, civil engineering contractors, supervisors, graduates, and site engineers wishing to begin the educational journey to become competent temporary works co-ordinators.
