MDS®, leading manufacturer of specialist screening equipment, announces the launch of the SCRAPMASTER 400, its newest machine designed specifically to handle tough material in the scrap and metals recycling industry.

Conor Hegarty, General Manager MDS explains, “Up until now, many customers have had to rely on traditional recycling trommels or scalpers for the scrap and metal recycling segment, which often lacked the durability required for processing metals. MDS identified the need for a machine specifically dedicated to handling the toughest of tasks.”

The SCRAPMASTER 400 builds upon the foundation of the successful M412, a compact, versatile machine for screening lightweight materials to recycling hefty demolition waste. After extensive research and consultation with customers and distributors, MDS has taken that platform and significantly enhanced it to offer customers who screen scrap metal the perfect solution for their needs.

Designed for Heavy-Duty Scrap Processing

MDS has designed and manufactured the SCRAPMASTER 400 as a reliable and efficient solution for scrap and metals recycling applications. Features include:

  • A robust, wear-resistant push feeder, capable of withstanding heavy, abrasive materials.
  • A heavy-duty drum frame with a multitude screen options, ranging from 25-150mm (1-6”).
  • An apron style conveyor on the oversize material output, providing next level durability in scrap applications.
  • A three-ply, heavy-duty fines belt for maximum
  • Auto-reverse functionality on the drum and variable rotation

“MDS continues to innovate by offering solutions that address industry challenges head-on,” adds Conor Hegarty. “MDS products excel in the toughest applications, and we have leveraged our existing heavy-duty technology to produce a machine that improves scrap processing efficiency and reliability. The addition of the SCRAPMASTER 400 to the MDS product range underlines our position as leaders in specialty screening applications.”
