Takeuchi’s 3rd generation TCR50-3 is proving popular not just as a dumper.

It’s the versatility of the TCR machines that is making a significant impact. The TCR50s have become the machine of choice when it comes to working at height and converting to a tracked lifting platform onto the dumper base.

The stable tracked platform provides the stability for a variety of working at height solutions – cherry pickers and lifting baskets.

It all started with the Takeuchi dealer in Scotland with Ramsay and Jackson customer John Paterson in Scotland who did the first TCR tracked dumper with a lifting basket as an elevated work platform. The adaption was specifically for electricity poles both installation and repair. The TCR with big wide tracks can cope with soft wet ground common in post-storm / wet-weather repairs and makes all the difference when working on soft ground.

Ayrshire based John M Paterson now has more than 18 Takeuchi tracked dumpers with elevated platforms in the plant hire fleet.

John Paterson, “The Takeuchi TCR definitely lends itself to this modification, it has the capability for all sorts of heights of lifting platforms, up to 20m turret. The TCR design offers great stability when working on soft ground and operators find the machine easy to operate with joystick controls, and as a plant hirer having the Takeuchi reliability always helps.”

Takeuchi dealers have fully embraced the versatility of the TCR machine to accommodate customer lifting applications on job sites across the UK and use Ascendant Access to deliver the solution. Achieving heights up to 19m and reach of 13m this TCR Lifting Platform reaches new heights and gets onto the softest ground conditions.

Steve Dean MD Ascendant Access, “We were asked back in 2008 to marry our 18m truck mounted boom to the Takeuchi. Since then, we have seen steady growth in the take up of this product and this current year we have 30 units on order. We have mounted the boom onto the Yanmar equivalent a few times, but I think the TCR50 is the carrier of choice for our customers. To date we have produced approx. 150 units. Most of them are in the UK but we are beginning to export the units to Eire”

Takeuchi tracked dumpers have always offered maximum safety with the front-facing cab position for maximum on-site visibility when moving, ideal when working in limited spaces.

For customers looking for a conventional tracked dumper as an earthmover the TCR50-3 offers unique features. With both left and right skip-tip functionality (180 degree) offering efficient sideways dumping. With excellent 65-degree skip tip angle and 3,700kg payload the TCR50-3 offers a maximum load discharged with a single operation.
