Powering into the 15-tonne excavator class, Takeuchi UK has introduced the new TB3150, offering versatility in this busy weight category.
Now available in the UK, the latest TB3150 combines a unique offset boom system with more than 14% increased hydraulic horsepower over the previous model. Powered by a new Yanmar engine rated at 85 kW (114 hp), delivering the performance required across a wide range of demanding applications.
The TB3150’s offset boom system allows operators to dig offset without repositioning the machine, making it well suited for utility work and applications that require precise positioning. With less track repositioning the TB3150 is ideal in tight spaces and applications that need 15-tonne power in restricted areas.
Takeuchi now offers customers two distinct choices in the 15-tonne excavator class. The fixed-boom TB3150R, which arrived earlier this summer, has already received strong reviews, while the new TB3150, with its unique offset boom, is the model some customers have been waiting for with the first machines about to get to work on HS2.
The new 15-tonne machines incorporate Takeuchi’s latest 3-Series enhancements. Inside, operators benefit from a redesigned cab focused on comfort and ease of use. Features include automatic climate control, heated air suspension seat and keyless start with pin-code and RFID for improved access management. It’s 8-inch touch screen display, 270-degree camera views, intuitive jog dial and multi-switch control panel allow convenient access to common machine functions. Pilot-operated joystick controls combine with electro-hydraulic (EH) controls for functions such as travel, dozer blade and boom offset, offering operators precise hydraulic feedback and responsive control with enhanced flexibility and intuitive machine management.
Takeuchi are of course best known for its extensive and popular range of mini excavators but have had larger 12-15 tonne models for over twenty years. Takeuchi have always offered a unique offset boom feature which sets the machine apart from conventional styles.
