From October 8 to 15, BKT Carbon will attend K 2025 in Düsseldorf, the global trade show for the plastics and rubber industry

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), the leading multinational Off-Highway tire manufacturer, announces BKT Carbon’s participation at K 2025, the international trade fair for plastics and rubber, taking place in Düsseldorf from October 8 to 15. This is BKT’s first official appearance on a global stage for its carbon black business – a strategic milestone in providing sustainable solutions for rubber and plastics.

At booth K33, hall 8a, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the carbon black-based solutions by BKT that are tailored for a wide range of specialty applications: from agricultural films to wire & cable, from engineering plastics to automotive components, as well as inks, coatings, and rubber compounds. These high-performance formulations are designed to deliver both aesthetics and durability even under the most demanding conditions.

“Participating in K 2025 is an important milestone since we are introducing ourselves for the first time as a global specialty carbon black supplier on this important platform. This isn’t the start of our journey—which is already well established—but a decisive move to extend our offering to key markets by means of an innovative, comprehensive, and sustainable portfolio,” states Mr. Bajaj, Sr. President/Director & CFO, BKT Carbon.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of BKT’s strategy. At Bhuj, the manufacturing process enables the reuse of over 75,000 m³ of gas from oil decomposition each year. Moreover, the use of about 100,000 bulk bags has been eliminated, and site-wide CO₂ emissions have been cut by over two million kilograms. The company is also actively exploring the use of alternative fuels, such as PNG, LPG, biogas, and renewables, strengthening the company’s commitment to an increasingly sustainable manufacturing model.

“Bringing our Carbon Black to K 2025 not only means presenting a competitive, full-range product portfolio, but also an industrial model based on integration, innovation, and sustainability,” comments Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT. “It’s a tangible proposition for an industry that seeks to evolve responsibly.”

The five-year development plan foresees an increase in annual production capacity from 200,000 to 360,000 tons by 2026, with a particular focus on performance carbon products. For BKT, this growth means not only higher volume but also greater responsibility: every new production line will be designed to further raise sustainability and performance standards, enhancing a manufacturing cycle that is already driven by efficiency and low impact.

Through its participation at K 2025, BKT consolidates its international growth path, positioning itself as a reliable industrial partner by combining manufacturing scale, technical innovation, and a tangible vision of applied sustainability.
