SHAPING FUTURE CONSTRUCTION: TOPCON POSITIONING IRELAND AT THE CIF CONFERENCE

573 delegates descended on Croke Park last week for the annual CIF Conference to discuss the issues impacting the construction industry in Ireland – from the housing shortage to adoption of new technology.

Topcon Positioning Ireland, a leading provider of technology for construction and geo-businesses, was involved as a Gold Sponsor of the conference, as part of its drive to champion adoption of automation and digital workflows for construction in Ireland.

The Topcon team at the event were on hand to discuss cutting-edge surveying, monitoring and construction equipment, as well as to give advice and insight into the support and training activities Topcon is involved in with third-level colleges and universities to help tackle the skills gap.

Karol Friel, sales manager for Ireland at Topcon Positioning Ireland, commented on the event: “We’re at a crunch point as an industry, with demand for infrastructure and housing at an all time high. It’s essential that we adopt automation on projects as well as to encourage students and young people to consider a career in construction to ensure we have the capacity we need as an industry. The CIF Conference offered a fantastic platform to debate these issues with attendees and to network with key thinkers in the industry.”
