Dublin-based rental firm adds new “micro-sized,” eco-friendly units to its aerial fleet

Earlier this year, GK Hire, a long-established plant and tool hire company based in central Dublin and Tallaght, received delivery of 21 Genie® GS™-1330m scissor lift platforms.

Featuring a power-efficient e-drive system for full-day, emissions-free runtime and weighing less than the standard service elevator capacity limitation of 1000 kg (2,205 lb), the new “micro-sized” Genie GS-1330m scissor lift combines a maximum working height of 5.9 m (18 ft 8 in), a lift capacity of 227 kg (500 lb) to take two people on the platform, and a machine weight of just 885 kg (1,950 lb). The perfect low access solution for low floor load, space and weight-restricted jobsites, key applications include indoor construction and facilities maintenance tasks in hotels, supermarkets, theatres, gymnasiums, malls, high-rise and retail spaces.

“The Genie GS-1330m meets all the specifications needed in clean room settings. In our region, pharmaceutical plants and data centres are the real target area for these units where we see great potential. For us, the e-drive feature is as a huge plus for clean room work where customers do not want to contend with contaminating and soiling surfaces due to hydraulic leaks,” says Jerome Cunnane, Managing Director, GK Hire.

He continues, “Feedback from customers has been great concerning the folding platform that makes the unit easy to transport in very tight areas, including lifts. Weighing only 885 kg (1,950 lb), it’s just right for work on mezzanine floors making it quite a revelation among professionals for office fit outs.” 2/2

More about the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift

Measuring just 1.4 m (4 ft 7 in) long and 0.78 m (30 ft 5 in) wide and drive-enabled at full height and in stowed position, thanks to its e-drive technology, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift delivers more traction power than previous solutions. Faster and more responsive to work with, this system provides full workday shift operation, the ability to handle up to 25% graded slopes (14 degrees) and climb ramps easily for rapid transport between rentals even when battery charge is low. Unlike other products equipped with casters, this unit also comes with solid, non-marking 25 cm (10”) tyres to offer a ground clearance of 6 cm (2.4 in) and high-precision drive manoeuvrability adapted to sensitive surfaces.
