At this year’s edition of Intermat in Paris on April 24-27, several product innovations are
promised from SVAB, where the main attraction will be the successor to the popular joystick grip L8.
SVAB is a leading manufacturer of joystick grips and tiltrotator control systems for
excavators. Already in 2008, SVAB launched the L8 grip, which quickly became
popular among operators thanks to its ergonomic design, multifunctionality, and
precision control of tiltrotators. Over the years, the L8 grip has been further developed,
gained new functionality, and has become a grip that is factory-installed by several
excavator manufacturers.

SVAB is now taking a new step and launching a successor that is promised to include
additional functionality and ergonomic benefits for the operator. The grip is also being
launched alongside additional products in the product family.

Complete joystick program for excavators
As part of SVAB’s clear focus on developing products that increase the efficiency of an
excavator and improve the operator’s work environment, not only is the successor to
the L8 being launched, but also additional grip variants whose ergonomics and
functionality have been developed to suit operators around the world, regardless of the
market. These grips, together with SVAB’s electronic joystick base eJB, enable SVAB to
be a complete supplier of joysticks to manufacturers for the excavators of the future.

It’s hard to improve our currently popular L8 grip, but our skilled development
team has proven that it is possible, and we are really looking forward to
showcasing it to the industry at Intermat on April 24 – 27. The L8 grip, and now its
successor, are grips that fit perfectly on excavators and markets where it is
common to use multifunctional hydraulic attachments like tiltrotators, but we
must not forget that there are also excavator operators in other markets where the
needs and demands are a bit different.
Therefore, it feels extra exciting that we can now present a wider range of grips for
excavators that also cover these needs.” says Fredrik Effestam, CEO of SVAB.

SVAB welcomes everyone interested and curious to see the new products to their
booth F060 in Hall 5A at Intermat. There, visitors will be offered the opportunity to test
drive the successor to the L8 grip in an exciting simulator environment.
