Crapper and Sons Landfill Ltd is an independent family-owned business. Their primary activities are recycling, waste management, the supply of recycled aggregates and operation of a landfill. Their 170 acres site is located just outside Swindon, UK. 40 acres is dedicated to industrial and commercial landfill, with another 30 acres committed to their recycling services.

Their goal is to divert as much material as possible from landfill by processing waste through a Materials Recycling Facility, reclaiming and repurposing a range of commodities and valuable materials.

Crapper and Sons are currently waiting for the construction of a new MRF, that will boost efficiencies and capacity for their operation. Whilst the new MRF is being constructed, they still need to be able to process commercial & construction waste, and therefore required a temporary recycling plant to accommodate this. Crapper & Sons approached CRJ Services for a solution, who proposed the hire of two Kiverco modular mobile units, a density separator, and a mobile picking station with integrated blower.

Kiverco’s modular range of equipment offers Crapper & Sons a complete waste processing system. The units can be set up quickly and offer flexibility around the processing of waste materials.

The Kiverco DS 150 is a compact density separator, offering the efficient separation of material using twin recirculating air blowers. Separating material into a light and heavy fraction.

The Kiverco PS123 is a picking station that combines manual sorting, air separation and magnetic separation all in one compact unit. The fan blower module is integrated on the infeed conveyor and will remove any light materials entering the station. Any desired material can then be manually picked from the resulting heavy fraction as it passes through the station. All material leaving the station is subject to an overband magnet, removing any ferrous metals.

These units can come with an integrated diesel / electric generator, allowing flexibility of operation around large sites. They also come with a hydraulically adjusted jack leg system which allows users to adjust height to seamlessly fit into existing processes.
