Leading wood processing, biomass and recycling equipment manufacturer, Terex Ecotec has expanded the entry level end of its range of trommel products with the introduction of the compact TTS 518, now available through its distributor in Ireland, McHale Plant Sales.

Their smallest trommel yet, the TTS 518 is aimed at small to medium sized operations where space may be limited or applications where lower volumes and a smaller machine footprint are required.
More compact in build whilst retaining key features, the TTS 518 is described by McHale Plant Sales general manager Denis McGrath as “a machine that will provide operators with unrivalled application flexibility, production rates and serviceability, coupled with low operating costs and the latest engine technology”.

Fully equipped with an EU Stage V engine and the latest intelligent screening technology, the TTS 518 is built to deliver a cost-efficient, highly versatile, end-product. Available in both tracked and wheeled variants, it can screen a variety of material including compost, biomass, soil, gravel and waste.

Inspired by the success of the TTS 620, the TTS 518 has the same intuitive control system and ‘push to start’ buttons, allowing the operator to effortlessly configure the machine to suit the required application. The intelligent feed control system continually monitors the machine to optimise screening performance and throughput. Driven at the head, the feeder provides a continuous feed rate and reduces slippage in difficult applications. In addition, the slide out cassette feeder allows for easy maintenance and quick and simple belt changing, whilst the clear tunnel area underneath prevents material build up, allowing it to drop directly onto the ground.

Fitted with a spiral design 1.8m x 4.7m horizontal drum, total screening area is 23m2. Double-sided drum access via 180 degrees opening side doors means maintenance and drum changes can be carried out with ease. Designed to accept a number of other trommel manufacturers’ drums, it can integrate seamlessly into an operators existing fleet.

Other features include a swing out engine cradle providing unprecedented service access from ground level and fully modular conveyors which can each be removed independently. Fines and oversize also lower to ground level for maintenance.
