Ireland’s only dedicated construction and quarrying machinery equipment show CQMS returns to Tullamore in 2023 providing a working environment to see the latest innovations from manufacturers.

If you already have a 2023 diary, make sure you save these dates: April 22 and 23! On these two days Ireland’s Construction and Quarrying Machinery Show (CQMS) returns to Molloys Quarry, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

Jointly sponsored by Capital Flow and the Irish Plant Contractors Association (IPCA) the 2023 show has live demo areas, exhibitors as well as a programme of discussion panels with government ministers, Industry experts, tips and advice on how to protect and grow your business.

CQMS is the best place to check out the broad range of construction and quarrying plant options available, talk to the guys selling them and in many cases, see them in action in our live demo area in what is a working quarry environment.

Show organiser Brian Coogan commented: “The last CQMS took place in September 2021 at the height of the pandemic when pretty much every other trade show was cancelled. Despite this we had good attendance and our exhibitors reported that they did good business. This really demonstrates the resilience of our industry. Even in the toughest times people still want to get out and carry on their business and see what’s new.

“In 2023 we have moved the show back to April and back into a quarry environment,” adds Brian. “We’re back in Tullamore bigger and better than ever with an emphasis on quarry plant and new equipment. We will be featuring a dedicated access equipment zone as well as a tipper truck section and many of the big Chinese brands like Sany, LiuGong, Shantui and others. We will cover a wide range of plant from across the construction, quarrying, recycling and demolition tools sectors with, in all, more than 200 exhibitors expected.”

What the industry says
Shannon Valley Group’s Mick English is anticipating a great event in 2023.  “I’m looking forward to a mini Bauma or Hillhead here in Ireland,” he told us, although of course CQMS is considerably easier to get to than those events. “It’s a great place to see new machines of different types and hook up with all the people you need to see all in one place.”

Mike Harrington, MD of Harrington Plant Hire is also looking forward to the show. “I am interested in seeing what’s available in electric plant,” he told us. “With all the talk about electric vehicles and zero carbon I am hoping to check out the electric excavator and crusher options as well as what’s available for recycling and reusing materials on site.

It is a great place to meet up with people too.” Dermot Cunnie of Dungannon-based Glendun Plant sales is already a fan of CQMS,”We were at the last CQMS as an exhibitor,” he says. “We were very surprised by the quality of the people attending, they really meant business and we sold equipment at the show, including a wood chipper which could be seen as a real achievement at a quarry show!”

Dermot is keen to demonstrate Glendun’s range of electric and low-emissions machines. “We will be featuring hybrid boom lifts on our stand as well as lithium ion battery and solar-powered lighting towers as well as the wood chippers and other machinery.”
