Of interest to the plant rental sector is the addition by Komatsu of two models to its mini digger range – a PC17R-5 and PC20R-5.

Both now available to order through their distributor in Ireland, McHale Plant Sales, their introduction increases to 14 the number of Komatsu Minis now on sale here, subject to any down-the-line range rationalisation that their introduction may lead Komatsu to make.

Designed to go where few excavators could ever go before, the Komatsu range of ‘door size’ diggers boasts features likely to increase their popularity amongst plant rental outlets, contractors landscapers and the DIY sector. These include EU Stage V engines, fingertip controls, hydraulic quick couplers, seat belt indicator, secondary shut down switch and protected PPC levers.

Pointing to changes from previous models, McHale Plant Sales director John O’Brien highlighted ‘improvements in performance, economy and emissions’, coupled with ‘first class comfort and controllability’ appealing to both the experienced and novice operator alike’.
